Then he was called Christopher Smith, alias The Rebel. He did a great deal successfully helping to win the war with no superhuman abilities. He died in the America he helped to create, a happy man. The next superhero in recorded history was known as the Midnight Avenger, a black man who was never a slave and helped to free his people. Ultimately, he met his match and was murdered by a far corrupt slave master who cornered him after his slaves had been freed. The last of earlier superheroes to truly make an impact was known as The American Eagle, also the first superhuman hero gifted with invulnerability and flight. He fought during WWII and become an American Icon, having been very significant to the war. On one mission, however, he lost someone close to him, giving up afterwards and the war was won in a bit of a different way.
